Leadership

About Us

bulletWho We Are & Why We’re Different

The TCU Leadership serves as TCU's premiere resource for leadership development.  The key to the Center’s success is its interdisciplinary approach - serving students of all majors, TCU faculty and numerous community agencies. At TCU, we believe everyone is Leadership Groupborn with leadership potential. We help you find it, develop it, then take it into the workforce when you graduate.

Unlike traditional notions of leadership that are defined by power and position, the Leadership Center defines leadership as positively impacting the lives of others.

Using the Social Change Model of Leadership Development as its foundation, the TCU Leadership Center prepares individuals to become ethical leaders and responsible citizens in the global community by providing opportunities for them to make a positive difference within themselves, on campus, in the community, and around the world.

Meet the Leadership Center Staff, the TCU Leadership Council comprised of outstanding student leaders, and our Board of Partners of comprised of distinguished Fort Worth leaders.

bulletOur Approach & Competencies

At TCU, our mission is to help students become ethical leaders and responsible citizens in the global community.  The TCU Leadership Center was created to help you discover and develop YOUR leadership experience.  We believe that every student has the capacity to lead – and we believe that our staff can help you to find your own unique leadership experience based on your individual passion, strengths, and aspirations.

Our Approach: Leadership at TCU is about finding a way to make a positive difference in the lives of others.  It begins with YOU.  Take a class, meet with a TCU Leadership Center staff person, or attend a program.  Whatever method you chose, take the time to learn about your self as a leader.  Then, move on to OTHERS.  Leadership doesn't happen in a vacuum.  It’s essential to gain the skills necessary to interact with others effectively – strong communications strategies, a global perspective, and group dynamics will help you to be prepared for LEADING OTHERS.   Motivating and inspiring others to action requires exceptional leadership.  Take advantage of student organization training, coaching and a strengths-based approach to building a strong team.  Finally, the TCU Leadership Center will help you learn to LEAD FOR CHANGE

In keeping with TCU’s mission, our programs focus on helping you develop the following competencies:

Self-awareness

Communication

Ethics

Responsible Citizenship

Global Leadership

At the Center, we provide you the opportunity not only to LEARN how to change the world, but also to develop the skills necessary to LEAD the change you wish to see.

Through experiential learning opportunities, you take action, learn more about yourself, and integrate your leadership experiences both inside and outside of the classroom.

So what are you waiting for?  LEAD…It’s what Horned Frogs do!
