The mission of Texas Christian University is to educate individuals to think and act as ethical leaders and responsible citizens in the global community. In order to fulfill this mission, the Chancellor's Leadership Program focuses on ethics, responsible citizenship, and the global community while creating an environment for continual leadership development.
The Chancellor's Leadership Program (CLP) is designed to offer a select group of students an opportunity to commit to a program of service and learning that will contribute to their education and their communities. Throughout their four years at TCU, students are expected to complete a number of activities, including community service, participation in leadership classes, and various campus activities. The program is open to all first year students. Applicants will be accepted based upon desire and willingness to become positive change agents locally and globally. Requirements
Participants in CLP are expected to participate in community service activities, complete co-curricular leadership classes, attend leadership conferences and workshops, and take part in fine arts and intercultural events, mentor other students and complete a legacy project their senior year. Purpose
Much the same way exceptional athletes and musicians receive special training to further develop their talents, the Chancellor's Leadership Program provides students who have a passion for leadership and social change. The program incorporates with varied avenues to further develop skills and take part in unique experiences that allow leaders to apply their talents in new and innovative ways.
CLP Competencies
CLP Fellows are expected to participate in learning opportunities and activities that address leadership competencies: personal development, ethics, responsible citizenship and global leadership. All CLP requirements, including attendance at fine arts and intercultural events as well as lectures and workshops should count toward one of these competencies.
